Repair Cafe - 2nd & 4th Thurs - new colors.png

What is a Repair Café?

A repair café is a community space where people can bring a worn or broken item to consult with a skilled neighbor who might then guide them through repairing it. There is no fee for this (volunteer) service, and the benefits are many!

At a Repair Café, you may:

  • Learn how to fix a worn beloved object

  • Give new life to an item so that you don’t have to pay to replace it

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by keeping things from heading to the landfill and by eliminating the energy required to make a replacement

  • Feel empowered by your own self-reliance!

  • Connect with other great people in your community

How does it work?

Repair cafés are carry-in/carry-out. You bring in something that needs repair, and we attempt to help you out!  We can't guarantee that all items will be fixed, but we will work to find a solution together if your item can't be repaired (i.e. perhaps it can be donated or otherwise retired).

What types of things can I bring to have repaired?

  • torn clothing

  • broken zippers

  • knitted / crocheted repairs

  • tech support for computers / small devices

  • picture frames

  • toys

  • clocks

  • small appliances that "click" on and off, like a coffee pot

  • ...and more!

Do I need to RSVP?

It would be very helpful if you could let us know what you plan to bring ahead of time, but if you don't have a chance to complete the form, it's totally ok for you to just swing by!
